Scuttlebutts is a nautical term used by
sailors in the days of tall ships. It was the name given to a large oak
barrel containing rum where the crew met after a days work to drink their
daily ration. The Scuttlebutt obviously became the most popular part of
the ship being the place to meet, drink and gossip.
Nothing much has changed except we have added great food and a lot more
drink.
